Pee Wee Ferris
Peewee Ferris

You dance to it, you listen to it and you play it the music of Australia's No1 DJ, Peewee Ferris has been flooding and shaping the Australian and International music scene for over 15 years. Very few musicians are lucky enough to have enjoyed huge successes as both a top DJ and as a commercially renowned music producer yet Peewee Ferris has managed both of these roles with seamless style.

To sample his mastery, Peewee can be found mixing it up each Friday night for over 3000 techno/hard house/trance fanatics who have made Sublime@ Home nightclub a must do on Sydney's dance music hit list.

In motion, Peewee headlines all major Australian dance events and tours, including Chemical Brothers Australian Tour 2002, Two Tribe Tours 2001/2002, the Perfecto tour, the Gatecrasher tour 2002 and the Sublime vs. Slinky tour 2002 , Ministry of Sound Tour, Big Day Out Festival Events 1990-2002, Utopia Events, and Fuzzy Events.

Internationally, Peewee has played to crowds throughout Asia and Europe and Africa. In 2000-2001, Peewee toured China twice, alongside Seb Fontaine and Yousef and was the first Australian DJ to play in South Africa at Freedom Festival 2001. Peewee also graced the shores of Hannover, Germany, where he was invited to play at Lovestern Galatika Meets EXPO 2000, with an international line-up and more than 15,000 party people.

He is often found sharing the stage with the likes of Carl Cox, Paul van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, The Prodigy, Moby, Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Sasha, and Fatboy Slim.

With such a universal following, Peewee consistently receives both global and local recognition. In 2001 he was voted by Ministry Of Sound Mag, in the Top 25 Most Influencing People in the Australia Dance Scene. In 2000, he was voted by Juice Magazine as being in the Top 25 DJ's in the World and from 1993-1995 was voted in DJ Magazines (U.K.) Top 100 DJ's in the World.

Ironically, the largest crowd he has played to comes from the flipside of his career when he composed the music for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies. That gig earned him a staggering audience of over 8 billion people worldwide.

More action on the production front has seen Peewee's very own massive club hit, 'Genesis', being recently released in the UK. This track is receiving massive exposure via the likes of Paul van Dyk and Paul Oakenfold, who called Peewee "brilliant".

2002 sees further international releases on Perfecto Records (UK), Black Hole (Holland) and TEC Records (UK).

Back in Australia, Peewee has twice been nominated for an Aria award for his album "Social Narcotic" and his Top 20 single "I Feel It" has been awarded an Aria Gold Record for production work.

Peewee has notched up over 70 different dance remixes for artists such as Ultrasonic, Jocelyn Brown, Eternal Rhythm, Human Nature, and Men at Work.

Peewee's pseudonyms include Evac, Slot Jockies , Asio and Pipi Le Oui - under which 'Funky Bus' was released, and is still being hammered by Fatboy Slim, Freddy Fresh and on Pete Tong's Essential Selection on Radio 1 BBC.

The cyber age has been fully embraced by Peewee and in May 2002 his new CD "Digital Domination" . The CD is the latest in the Down Underground series.
