The Radiothon Closing Party for 2008 takes over the Rosemount Hotel in North Perth for a night of rockin’ tunes from some of Perth’s favourite bands, a room fool of solo acoustic goodness plus the Drivetime and Out to Lunch DJs going head to head in the beer garden.

Head on down to ‘The Rosie’ from 8pm on Saturday September 6 as Radiothon 2008 winds down, and help us celebrate what is great about local music at the same time as raising some much needed funds for the station.

This year’s Closing Party features some pretty amazing band action in the Main Bar of the Rosemount including: long time RTRFM favourites Red Jezebel, the future folk of Fall Electric, recent signing to Modular Records Tame Impala, local popsters The Preytells and underground super-group Umpire. And on MC duties for the evening will be Monday Drivetime’s dynamic duo Simon and Anth.

In the 459 Bar catch solo acoustic artists Josh Fontaine, Jeff Strong, Craig Sinclair and Gosia Basinska busting out some sweet stuff in that intimate little space.

Plus in the beer garden there is an extra special treat. The Out to Lunch and Drivetime DJs will be going head to head in a grudge match for total indie supremacy. Check out the conflict as it unfolds between Harvey & Aarom vs Sarah Tout, Cutter vs Sarah Delfante, Steph Edwardes vs Gemma Pike and those bitter foes Laura Miller vs Patrick Pittman.

Tickets are only available on the door on the night. It’s $10 for RTRFM Subscribers and $15 for General Admission. Gold Subscribers get free entry!

The Radiothon Opening Party for 2008 returns to Northbridge with a huge shebang from 8pm on Saturday August 30 at The Bakery Artrage Complex on James St, Northbridge. Get those fancy dancing shoes ready for a night of amazing live music and some pretty mad DJ skills.

This year the line up includes the triumphant return of The Kuling Bros, fun time party action from Boys Boys Boys, RTRFM favourite Diger Rokwell in live mode, the electro wizardary/witchery of The Voltaire Twins, and stunning electronic sounds from Mia Sonos.

On the decks will be a whole gamut of superstar DJs coming along for the ride, including: Perth’s first man of Drum n Bass Greg Packer, Full Frequency techmeister Massiv Trav, the inhouse lunacy of Trainwreck’s Declan and Gonzo, Destination’s breakbeat heroes The Signal Drivers, the dubbed out beats of The Brothers Elliott, Jumpin Josh and Rockin Rhys from Rock Rattle and Roll, and Hula Bula’s Island Night mistress Lady Carla. Plus your MC for the evening, our ever affable breakfast man Peter Barr KBE.
